Dots & Splots was written in collaboration with the Hartt Community Division and the New Britain Art Museum. The project enlisted college-level composers writing new works for pre-college musicians inspired by artwork found in the museum’s collection.

I decided to follow the inspiration of two works. Both are beautiful, but they elicited very different emotions in me, leading me to develop two movements. One created calm, and another encouraged mischief.
