“Infinity Avenue” (R. Carl) Album Release
Over the last year, I have been privileged to work with the composer and my teacher, Robert Carl, performing and recording his seventh symphony, “Infinity Avenue.” The work is set to be released on his latest album with Neuma Records, Infinity Avenue, on April 26.

After a combined 68 years of joyful service to The Hartt School composition program, Robert Carl and Ken Steen are retiring. They are celebrating this event with a concert featuring the premiers of 2 major recent works, written for and performed by the Foot in the Door Ensemble under the direction of Glen Adsit and Edward Cumming.

Festivities start at 2 PM
WHEN: Saturday, October 1. Grounds open at 2pm for vendors, info tables, food trucks and art activities.
WHAT: Hartford's beloved outdoor spectacular celebrating seasonal change, nature and our community! This jaw-dropping extravaganza features of music, dance, comedy, gorgeous costumes and GIANT puppets!
WHERE: Elizabeth Park (near the intersection of Whitney Street and Asylum Avenue in Hartford).
WHO: YOU! Your family. Your friends. Your friend's friends. Your neighbors. NIGHT FALL is open and accessible to one and all. Everyone is welcome to this FREE event.
HOW: No tickets necessary. Just show up with a smile, blankets, chairs, picnics and pals. NIGHT FALL wants to take care of Mother Earth (the puppet in the photo!), so think about carpooling, scooting, skating, cycling (we'll have a bike valet!), bussing, Ubering, Lyfting, or walking!
This Is my second year taking part in this extraordinary experience. A group of wonderful creative forces are back once more, amazing musicians, hilarious performers, magnificent dancers, and of course HUGE puppets, art, and glorious costumes from Anne Cubberly, all putting together a show for everyone in Hartford to enjoy!
The show is 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 for anyone who wishes to attend. Come support the community and take part in the magic!

The screening at the Mastic Beach Mini Indie Film Festiva is preceded by other fantastic films as well as a dinner before the final screening and even talkbacks with some of the creative teams.

Exploring artistic partnership from multiple vantage points, uncommon practice / open studio is a project built on the belief that collaboration nourishes creators, expands communities, and has the potential to unfold into new projects, unexpected learning, exceptional growth, and innovative creation. Working in partnership, The Phoenix Concerts, The Hartt School, and Downtown Music at Grace co-present a program of contemporary works featuring performances by Hartt School faculty, students, and alumnae, and the world premiere of two new works written specifically for our uncommon practice collaboration: Ken Steen's air is the first of mothers, for soprano voice and electronics, commissioned by The Phoenix Concerts, and Daniel Minogue's We Had a Choice, winner of the 2018 Hartt / Phoenix Concerts score call.
