“This is a statement of anger. It is a statement of loss.”

There will be time I can’t get back, and I’m furious was written in memory of my grandmother, Lillian Coulton, who passed on during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. In collaboration with violinist Anton Miller and choreographer Stephen Pier, we explored the notion of loss in all its forms juxtaposed with acceptance of the year in which we all fell victim to circumstance. The resulting piece flourished into permission to express our anger and frustration while holding on to the good and remembering that we have the power to hold people accountable and make change.
